Anis Rahman, Ph.D.

Dr. Rahman earned his doctorate in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. His dissertation, Translanguaging to Sustain Multilingual Communities in Higher Education, investigates how translanguaging facilitates the building of bridges between multilingual students and faculty, especially in the STEM field. He previously completed his M.A. in Rhetoric and Writing from St. Cloud State, where he also earned an M.A. in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language). Dr. Rahman has published scholarly work in multiple journals. His most recent article, "Wikis as Third Space for Diversifying Access for Technical Communication," was published in Reflections: A Journal of Community-Engaged Writing and Rhetoric. His review of Algorithms of Oppression: How Search Engines Reinforce Racism by Safiya Umoja Noble was published in New Media and Society. Most recently, in Spring 2023, Dr. Rahman presented his paper, "Scrutinizing Compliance: Counting the Costs" in ATTW (The Association of Teachers of Technical Writers).
