Lamar Audiology Summer Services Available

Date(s): Now through Thursday, Aug. 1, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Location: Â鶹ÊÓƵ Speech & Hearing Building

The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Speech and Hearing Clinic offers audiology services as a benefit of employment to employees, their insurance-covered dependents, or to currently enrolled students, with no out-of-pocket expenses. We also work with Vocational Rehabilitation for technology assistance. Call (409) 880-8171 for more information.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ Center for Resiliency Continues Disaster Backpack Distributions on Wednesdays

Prepare for hurricane season with the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Center for Resiliency Smartstorm disaster training and receive a backpack complete with emergency supplies to assist you and your family in the event of a disaster. Bring your participation verification to the Signature Center suites located in the Cherry Engineering Building on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Movie - How to Lose a Guy
Boomtown Cinema Under the Stars

Date: Friday, July 12, 8 - 11 p.m.
Location: Spindletop Boomtown Museum

Join us at Spindletop Boomtown Museum for an outdoor showing of "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days." Bring your comfy chair or blanket and let the stars be your backdrop for an unforgettable evening. Doors will open at 8 p.m., and the movie begins around 8:45 p.m. Food, concessions, and drinks will be available for purchase. Â鶹ÊÓƵ students can attend for free.

Serenade Talbert
Boomtown Summer Serenade

Date: Friday, July 26, 7:30 - 10:00 p.m.
Location: Spindletop Boomtown Museum

Join Spindletop Boomtown Museum for an evening of live music by Jamie Talbert, food, and local artist vendors at Boomtown Summer Serenade. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; and music is from 8 to 10 p.m. There will be a $5 general entry fee and free entry for Â鶹ÊÓƵ students. Â鶹ÊÓƵ students will receive a free food voucher with a valid student ID.

The E-5 parking lot at the Mary & John Gray Library will be closed on Tuesday, June 25 for a tree installation. Please view the campus map to find an alternate parking plan if needed.

SHC Relocation
Â鶹ÊÓƵ Student Health Center Closed for Moving

The Student Health Center will temporarily close from June 14 at noon to July 7. We'll reopen at 8 a.m. on July 8 in our new location inside the Sheila Umphrey Recreational Center. Carl Parker Memoir Available May 31

TURTLE ON A POST: MEMOIR OF TEXAS STATE SENATOR CARL PARKER will be available May 31. Over two years, Carl Parker recorded stories of his career, and his wife, Beverly, typed them up. Jim Sanderson then assembled, organized, and edited these notes into a memoir. The memoir can be found on Amazon.
