Victor Gomez started as an adjunct instructor of brass at Â鶹ÊÓƵ in 2015. Mr. Gomez also teaches at Strake Jesuit College preparatory school and has a large private studio in Houston. An internationally renowned tubist and educator, Mr. Gomez has performed with orchestras and brass quintets in North and South America, the Caribbean and Asia. His musical engagements have taken him to notable venues, including Carnegie Hall. He has toured with the Orchestra of the Americas throughout Brazil, Columbia, Chile and China. Mr Gomez's brass quintet won first prize in the Brass Division of the Instrumenta Oaxaca chamber music competition in 2008, and he taught master classes in Chicago, El Salvador, Mexico and Brazil.

Mr. Gomez enjoys playing a variety of genres and styles of music. He was tubist with the rock band Weezer during their 2008 North American tour. In contemporary music, his highlight performances include premieres of award-winning composer Devin Collins’ Parhelion for tuba and piano and Deus Ex Machina for tuba quartet, and the 2010 premiere recording of Philip Glass’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra.

Mr. Gomez performed as soloist with The Moores School of Music's orchestra on their recent Texas tour, and has continued to perform as a guest artist for various concerts at the University of Houston after graduation. He earned his master’s degree in tuba performance from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, and his major teachers include David Kirk at the Shepherd School and Mark J. Barton as his primary teacher during his music education studies at The Moores School of Music.
