Â鶹ÊÓƵ invites students of all ages to a variety of summer camps to be held on campus this summer. Camps are offered for a variety of ages and interests with both daily and residential opportunities.
Lamar Nursing Nightingale Experience
The Nightingale Experience is a two-day event June 9-10 for students entering grade 10 and 11 who are interested in nursing. Students are introduced to the nursing profession through simulated hands-on nursing skills in hospital settings. Students must be recommended by high school counselors. ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp
The ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp is a residential camp June 12-23 for students who are transitioning to grades 6-8 in Fall 2017 and who have at least a B-average in science and mathematics and a passing score on the state’s standardized science and mathematics tests. Lamar Intro to Engineering
The L.I.T.E. Summer Program is sponsored in part by a grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, ExxonMobil, Motiva, BASF and the College of Engineering, making the camp free to participants. Applicant criteria will focus on those entering 7th and 8th grade and who can commute daily to the university. Preference is given to underrepresented minorities and/or females. Participants will engage in discussions and experiments with Â鶹ÊÓƵ faculty, visit engineering labs, learn about career and study opportunities, and work in teams on fun engineering projects. They must be entering the 7th or 8th grade, have at least a “B” average in math and science classes, and receive strong recommendations from their current math or science teachers. L.I.T.E. - Senior
Lamar Introduction to Engineering (LITE) – Senior is sponsored by Motiva and the College of Engineering. Applicant criteria will focus on those entering or currently in high school and who can commute daily to the university. Preference is given to underrepresented minorities and/or females.Those interested in attending the LITE-Senior program are encouraged to apply. Registration will be open until June 1. In the program, participants will explore the tasks engineers undertake on a daily basis, engage with faculty members in an array of disciplines, concentrate on a variety of applications in each field, participate in presentations and hands-on activities, and learn the meaning of what it is to be an engineer. Applicants must have a “B” average in math and science classes and a strong recommendation from their current math or science teachers. X-Plore Â鶹ÊÓƵEE Summer Camp
X-Plore Â鶹ÊÓƵEE is held June 20-23 from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. for girls entering 7th and 8th grade who are interested in electrical engineering. Activities will center on robotics, electronics, communications and more. Space is limited. Learn to Swim
Group sessions are held June 5-15, June 19-29 and July 17-27 for ages 1-year old to adult at $65 for eight lessons. Private lessons are held July 10-13 and July 31-August 3 for ages 5-year old to adult at $65 for four lessons. STEAM Summer Art Camp
STEAM camp is July 10-14 for students entering grades 9-12. It’s an intensive week of exciting hands-on integrated learning activities and art projects that places “Art” back into the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum. All-State Choir Camp
Band Camp I and Band Camp II/Percussion Camp

Summer Dance Intensive
Held July 10-21, the junior intensive is for students who have completed grades 3-7; the senior intensive for those who have completed 8th grade+ and adult students. Summer Theatre Intensive

33rd Annual Youth and Young Adult Gospel Music Retreat

InterACT Language Enrichment Theater Camp
From July 10-27, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-11 a.m., children of all ability levels enrolled in speech therapy will learn expressive, receptive, and pragmatic (social skills) language goals through integration of implicit feedback. Articulation Boot Camp
Camp is held June 20-July 6 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Designed for children with speech delays/impairments who are enrolled in speech therapy at school, this camp is an intensive program to help children pronounce speech sounds. SPORTS CAMPS
Soccer Camps
Providing the best training environment and camp experience possible, Lamar Soccer Camps blend expert technical and tactical training with a friendly, outgoing staff of coaches to ensure that campers have an unforgettable week of soccer. Coaches include current and former Cardinal players as well as top college, club and high school coaches.
- Spring College ID Camp (grades 8-12) are $125 on May 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Boys and Girls Lil’ Cardinals Camps (ages 5-6) are $135 per week, 9-11:30 a.m. Sessions are June 5-9, June 12-16, July 10-14.
- Boys and Girls Full-Day Summer Camps (ages 7-13) are $275 per week from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Sessions are June 5-9, June 12-16, July 10-14.
Camp will end at 11:30 a.m. on Fridays.

Softball Camps
Elite Prospect Scrimmages for ages 12 and older are June 20 and August 27 at $100 per session. Athletes will participate in 90-minute games on teams put together by the Â鶹ÊÓƵ coaching staff. Each athlete is guaranteed to play two games in the day with time served at both a primary and secondary position.
Small Group Hitting Camps for ages 12 and older are June 13 and July 26, 3-5 p.m. each session at $100 per session. Participants receive individual instruction with different drills, focuses and instructors each session. There will be live hitting each session with separate drills and workouts for slappers. Indoor facilities are available so session will happen rain or shine. Sessions will be limited to the first 16 athletes.
Small Group Pitching Sessions for ages 12 and older are June 13 and July 26, 3-5 p.m. each session at $100 per session. Youth All-Skills Camp for ages 12 and under is June 26 at $60 per session:
- Offense Session (9-11 a.m.): Drills for bunting, slapping and hitting.
- Infield/Outfield Session (noon-2 p.m.): Drills for defensive play in the infield and outfield.
- Pitching/Catching Session (3-5 p.m.): Spin, velocity, accuracy and conditioning drills for pitchers; full session of catching drills to train the
DI bound athlete; participants will NOT be catching pitches during this session. Pitchers must supply their own catcher.
Elite All-Skills Camp for ages 12 and older is August 26 at $60 per session.

Campers will also learn the importance of proper shooting techniques from Â鶹ÊÓƵ coaches and players.
Experienced trainers are available at all times. Each camper is covered by health and accident insurance during camp hours. Insurance coverage is secondary to primary insurance. Completed indemnification and medical treatment forms are required at registration.
- Camp 1 for ages 6-18 is $185 on June 12-15, Monday-Wednesday from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. and Thursday 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
- Camp 2 for ages 6-18 is $185 on June 19-22 Monday-Wednesday from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. and Thursday 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Women’s Basketball Camps
Elite Camp is June 10 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. for varsity-level players. The Robin Harmony's Lady Cardinal Basketball Camp teaches the development of fundamental basketball skills using a fun and competitive environment. Players will learn one-on-one moves, team concepts, three-on-three concepts and two man games with game concepts. Campers will also learn the importance of proper shooting techniques and how to utilize the triple threat position.
Individual Camp is June 6-8 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and June 9 from 9 a.m.-noon.

Baseball Camps provide the opportunity for children ages 6-12 to work on fundamentals and technique with Â鶹ÊÓƵ baseball coaches and players. Chose from two sessions. Session I is June 19-22, Half Day, 9 a.m.-noon, $175, or Full Day 9 a.m.–4 p.m. $250. Session II is June 26-29, Half Day, 9 a.m.-noon, $175, or Full Day 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

Tennis Camps
Â鶹ÊÓƵ Tennis Camps are designed for the beginner to intermediate level athlete. The emphasis is on equal time devoted to the basic skills, while creating a team environment and grouping athletes according to skill levels. Camps will be held June 5-8; June 19-22; July 10-13; July 24-27; and August 7-10. All camps are from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. each day for participants ages 10-18.
COST: $150.00 per camper per week; $500 for all five weeks. The cost for returning campers is $125 per week. For more than one family member, the cost is $100 per child.

Volleyball Camps
Several camps will be offered to focus on various skills.
- Setting & Attacking I: June 7-8, 4-5 p.m., Setting & Attacking II: June 13-14, 4-5 p.m., $40, any age level. Half an hour will be spent training setting, half an hour will be spent training attacking.
- Serving & Defense I: June 7-8, 5-6 p.m., Serving & Defense II: June 13-14, 5-6 p.m., $40, any age level. Half an hour will be spent training serving, half an hour will be spent training defense.
- Youth Camp: June 8-9, 9 a.m.-12 p.m., $90, grades 3-6. The Youth Camp will introduce basic fundamental skills of volleyball.
- Advanced Middle School Camp: July 10-12, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., $220, grades 5-8.
Camp will focus on individual skills, as well as systems for High School Level athletes. - Varsity Team Camp: July 14-15, 1-5 p.m., $135, must have 6 players to register. Includes brief skill training and then tournament play.
- Elite Camp: July 17-19, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., $220, grades 9-12.
