Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Industrial Engineering top 10 most affordable in the nation
Bachelorsdegreecenter.org ranks Â鶹ÊÓƵ as ninth in the top 10 for 2020.
“Costs to obtain an engineering degree include tuition and fees and travel and living expenses,” said Dr. Victor Zaloom, interim chair and professor of industrial engineering. “Our tuition and fees are competitive with other state supported universities and much lower than most private institutions of higher learning.”
Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s industrial engineering program exceeds Bachelors Degree Center’s standards of accreditation, reputability and recognition for positive career impacts.
“We hire faculty from the best industrial engineering programs in the country – they bring a culture of excellence to our program,” said Dr. Zaloom.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s flexibility and ability to assist students within the program with scheduling issues became an important factor in the ranking, allowing students to complete their final two years from home in an online format.
“Online courses allow students to learn where they are rather than where we are. That saves travel and housing costs as well as commuting time,” said Dr. Zaloom.
Also ranked first in the nation for best value in online engineering programs in the SR Education Group’s 2019 Best and Most Affordable Online Engineering ranking, Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s industrial engineering program has faculty members who are experts in supply chain management, design and manufacturing, logistics and many more engineering elements. The learning experience extends beyond the classroom in the form of internships, co-ops, student research, conferences and studying abroad.
“Â鶹ÊÓƵ is a place where a good student can become a super star student because of our dedicated faculty and program offerings,” said Dr. Zaloom. “Industrial engineering is a major that helps students see the big picture of what is most important in an organizational setting. So our graduates tend to become very successful managers after serving as engineers and learning about the organizations’ goals and objectives.”
