The JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing students continue to strive and achieve at high levels. The December 2022 graduating cohort achieved a 98.04% pass rate (first attempt) on the  (NCLEX-RN). Upon graduating from the JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, graduates are required to take the NCLEX-RN examination, a national licensing exam, in order to receive a nursing license and practice as a Registered Nurse. 

Nursing Students

NCLEX-RN pass rates are officially reported on an annual basis by the Texas Board of Nursing.  The Dishman School of Nursing 2022 annual pass rates were 93.39%; nationwide the first-time pass rates for baccalaureate prepared nurses was 82% in 2022. There are 55 baccalaureate nursing programs in the state of Texas, the Dishman School of Nursing was one of only 16 baccalaureate nursing programs in Texas that achieved a first-time pass rate of greater than 90% in 2022. Dr. Gina Hale, Director of Undergraduate Nursing Studies states, “We are extremely proud of our graduates.  Not only was their performance on the NCLEX-RN exam stellar, but they are also prepared to safely practice as professional Registered Nurses and will positively represent Â鶹ÊÓƵ.”
