Â鶹ÊÓƵ held its Summer Commencement ceremony at the Montage Center on Saturday, August 5, recognizing the remarkable achievements of its diverse and accomplished graduates.
The Class of 2023 showcased the breadth of Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s academic offerings, with graduates earning degrees from various disciplines including engineering, business, education, arts, and sciences.
“Our 975 graduates come from 20 countries outside of the United States, 30 states other than Texas, and 267 cities and towns in Texas,” Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dann Brown said.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ President Dr. Jamie Taylor delivered a powerful commencement which highlighted the University’s 100-year history and the graduates’ role within that history.
“Since 1923, Â鶹ÊÓƵ has produced over 110,000 graduates, and you are now among them,” Taylor said. “Today, you join a world class alumni community that comprises of individuals from all walks of life. Many have become trailblazers and change agents, transforming the fabric of Texas and beyond. You are the torchbearers of our institution’s legacy and the architects of our future.”
The ceremony marked a new beginning for the graduates to step into the world as accomplished professionals and continue to embody the values of Â鶹ÊÓƵ by fostering innovation, inclusivity, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
“As you leave here today, I wish you every success. I wish you the courage to run towards a challenge and turn it into an opportunity for the next generation, “Taylor said.
