Minutes for CID Feb. 27, 2019. Reaud 202 3:30 pm (respectfully submitted by Liv Haselbach 2/28/19)
Please note that due to high demand we have added a May meeting and also a special workshop! Please put them all on your calendar!

1. Dr. Evans recapped his presentation in Austin last week and mentioned the ribboning cutting of the new Science and Tech building on April 3rd around lunchtime.
2. Dr. Marquart gave several updates including:
- Moving ahead on SACs, most sections are complete and draft expected early in the summer.
- Online is growing and so is recruitment around the state.
- Dean of the COE and the ORSP position searches are still ongoing.
- There is a core course focus.
- The second allocation of HEF will focus on the learning environment.
- The current headcount is rising, partly due to the new installment plan for paying tuition.
- Many community colleges are interested in computer science and criminal justice degrees, and there is online growth potential in education diagnostics.
3. There was an excellent presentation by Kenny Rodriguez on budgeting for next year followed by a robust discussion (see attached)
4. Amy Smith is hosting additional opportunities for chairs to meet and learn outside of the CID meetings. Please let her know if there are topics you are interested in. She mentioned statistics.
5. Craig Escamilla would like to let the chairs know that he and Kayla Holloway will be scheduling individual meetings with the UAC to discuss UAC relationships, etc.

Attendees: James Slaydon, Jeremy Alm, Mark Mengerink, Jim Sanderson, T .C. Ho, Liv Haselbach, Hsing-Wei Chu, Diane Clark, Randall Terry, Ken Evans, Jim Marquart, Kenneth Rodriguez.
