  1. Discussion on Department Annual Report: Due June 22 from Chairs to Deans. Liv to see if we can get a more comprehensive grant spreadsheet to the chairs. Explanation of purpose is to find out what we are doing in the departments and what we plan to do to improve (game plan).
  2. The President said that for the next biennium he will be pitching too special items. As far as budgets go, the letter from the Chancellor indicates some more cuts soon.
  3. Discussion on other COVID19 issues.
  • Still waiting for what the State decides.
  • There were some questions about what type of section for online classes that students are enrolling in and Dr. Nichols will look into that.
  • The no testing admissions may go on for awhile, although some testing centers (LIT and Â鶹ÊÓƵ Port Arthur) are opening some soon.
  • It was acknowledged that the restructuring and layoffs make people nervous, but have to consider HR issues when talking about it. Currently most are administrative related.
  • The President stated that the Institutional Goals remain, to make Â鶹ÊÓƵ the best it can be.
  • In order to work on various issues the President has convened several ad hoc committees focusing on things that are arising or may be pertinent for the fall. The first reports from the groups are due June 8th to the upper administration:

- Building Preparations (David Martin lead)

- Classroom Scheduling and Preparations (Lynn Maurer lead)

- Communication (Kate Downing lead)

- Access controls/health safety (Hector Flores lead)

- Testing/Contact Tracing (Bert Wagner lead)

- Virtual Town Halls (Diann Brodnax and Juan Zabala leads)

- Teaching and Technology (Amy Smith et al. leads)

- Emergency Plan Review to connect the dots of the above etc. (Jeremy Alltop lead)

  1. Agreed to meet in June and then decide if meet in July.
  2. Work on 2020/2021 committee liaison assignments in August.
