Students in the Department of Communication Media are strongly encouraged to supplement traditional classroom experience with relevant on-the-job training in their area of study.
We strongly recommend the internship experience as a means of linking theory to practice and as a method of preparing our students to work effectively in multiplatform journalism, film and documentary production, advertising, organizational communication/corporate communication, and public relations.
Students at Â鶹ÊÓƵ have on-campus and off-campus internship opportunities that help them build their abilities and competencies, apply what they have learned to real-life problems, and develop a professional portfolio.
We offer an internship for credit program, where juniors and seniors receive degree credit and experience in paid or unpaid communication positions. An internship for credit involves enrolling in and paying for college credit. This includes tuition and all associated fees based on three credit hours.
Another option for Â鶹ÊÓƵ students looking to complete an internship is to gain one directly with an organization. Browse our department's internship job board for an extensive listing of local, state and national organizations seeking interns.
